Tourism in Germany is very developed thanks to
the many interesting sights like: Neuschwanstein Castle This is one of the most famous castles in the
world. It is nestled in the Alps in Bavaria. An
interesting fact is that Walt Disney made inspiration
from it for “Sleeping Beauty”. Neuschwanstein Castle is
the most photographed building in all of Germany. In 1869, King Ludwig II designed this castle and
instead of architect, he hired a theatrical set designer
to realize his vision. It includes a gaudy artificial
grotto, the Throne Room with its huge crowd-shaped
chandelier, and the Iavish Minstrels’ Hall. Brandenburg Gate The
Brandenburg Gate is really important monument because it
is the national symbol for Germany. It was built in
1791, designed by Carl Gotthard Langhans the Elder (he
was inspired by the Propylaea if the Athenian Acropolis)
and meant to mark the end of the boulevard, Unter den
Linden. When the wall fell in 1989, the Brandenburg Gate
became the symbol of Germany’s reunification. Cologne’s Cathedral Cologne’s Cathedral is one of the most important
and tallest cathedrals. After 600 years of building it
was finally finished in 1880. While the World War II,
the Cathedral was the only building that survived. It
still stands next to the city’s train station and there
are many visitors all the time! Black Forest In the past the forests covered the whole German
area but in nowadays it covers just 30% of the
territory. Black Forest full of hills and valleys is the
best place for rest. You can walk, bike or drive through
the scenic routes that will lead you to tiny villages,
such as Freiburg. The most popular and recommended tours
are Wine Road and the German Clock Road. Berlin’s Museum Island The world-famous Museum Island lies between two
rivers – Spree and the Kupfergraben. In the middle of
this district is The Old Museum which was built in 1830
as a place for royal treasures. The New Museum took
shape between 1843 – 1855, and the National Gallery was
added in 1876 with the Bode Museum made in 1904 full of
collections of antiquities.
